Andrew Storer wins GV Championship with 4 under par total

 Tuesday, August 30, 2011
Numurkah GC's Andrew Storer has taken out his first Goulburn Valley Championship in fine style at Tocumwal GC on Sunday.

Andrew fired rounds of 72 / 68 to win by two shots from defending champion Ben Docking of Rich River who shot rounds of 73 / 69.  Andrew came home in a blistering 31 shots on the final nine holes for his win.  Andrew has been playing some great golf over more recent years and his win was a deserved one.

The Junior Championship was taken out by Luke Petherick of Mooroopna with rounds of 71 / 75 which also saw him finish in 3rd position in the open event.

Zach Maskell took out the GV Sub Junior U15 event with a scratch score of 88.

In all 34 players took part in the event which was up from the 19 players we had in 2010.  Many thanks go to the Tocumwal GC for the way the course was presented and to Mike & Terese McGregor and their staff for an enormous amount of help on the day.

2011 GVDGA Winter Pennant Information.

The GVDGA Executive have voted unaminously to allow the introduction of ride-on and standard golf Carts, for the HANDICAP Sections only, ie Division 4, 5 & 6.

Permission must be gained from the Club Captain of the course pennant is to played on to bring your cart or ride-on buggy. This is to allow banning if the course is not in a suitable condition for pennant (i.e. too wet). The GVDGA suggest that you contact the venue on the Saturday prior to the game to seek permission from the Captain to use your motorised transport.

The condition has been changed to allow more members who need the assistance of motorised transport to play pennant golf, and therefore boost the number of players available for each club.

Divisions 1, 2, & 3 will remain the same, only the Captain of the GVDGA can give approval for the use of motorised buggies or carts in competition.

Team and Result Sheets are now on the pennant webpage, along with a copy of the conditions of competition and the currenrt draw.
